How To: Take Care of Your Hair

Holla!
Today, I thought it woud be a good idea to write a post on how to take care of your hair,
Maintaining your hair in a good condition is relatively easy if you follow the right steps. Hair is made of protein, so keeping a healthy diet and good hygiene is an essential part of maintaining healthy hair. Here are some other tips about hair care, and what you can do at home to maintain healthy hair.

Step 1:
Wash your hair with a good-quality shampoo
Many people insist that washing hair too often can leave hair dried out, leeched of its natural oils, and damaged. Shoot to shampoo your hair at most every other day. Some people wash their hair only twice a week. In my case however, if possible I try to wash my hair everyday instead of washing it everyday. Try shampoos that do not contain sulfates or paragons. Sulfates are the chemicals that make shampoos lather up. Parabens are preservatives that cause irritation and eye problems after prolonged use. Both of these chemicals aren't healthy for you so try to use shampoos with natural ingredientsChoose a shampoo that suits your hair type. Don't just go for any old shampoo; go for the shampoo that works for you!

Different types of shampoos for different hair:

Curly hair probably wants frizz-minimizing and softening shampoo.
Straight or oily hair wants a gentle shampoo designed for daily washing.
Colored or treated hair needs a shampoo that's fortified with extracts or amino acids.
Dry hair probably needs shampoos with glycerin and collagen to help restore some moisture into the hair.

Step 2:
Use a correct conditioner depending on your hair type, length, and damage
Condition every time you shampoo your hair, although damaged or dyed hair probably needs a little more time and treatment than natural hair.

How to condition your hair:

Thin hair: use a botanical oil treatment before you shampoo (for example: lavender or tea-tree oil). Work it under your cuticles before shampooing. Wash shampoo away and apply conditioner from the mid-shaft down to the end. Leave in for a minute before washing.

Medium or thick hair: use a moisturizer. Keep your conditioner light. Apply conditioner all over your head and let it stay for 2-3 minutes.

Make sure you don't use products with too much protein. It can leave your hair feeling desiccated and brittle. Protein is the building block of healthy hair, use conditioners that come with balanced ingredients.

Step 3:
Let hair dry naturally and trim it regularly.
Give your hair a quick pat-down, squeezing the hair gently between the towel. Don't rub the hair, this can weaken the hair. Afterwards, let your hair dry naturally. Try not to use a blow-drier. Healthy hair does not respond well to heat. Hair can sustain heat damage very easily, especially from blow-driers. If you have to use a blow-drier, dry your hair using the lowest-temperature.
The best way to get rid of split ends is to trim your hair (about 1/4 inch above the splitting ends). Trim your hair every 6 to 8 weeks.

Step 4:
Style your hair naturally and eat healthy.
Styling your hair naturally and using natural products will minimize the damage. Styling by itself won't overly damage your hair, but repeated stylings multiple times per week put some serious strain on hair. Also try to avoid or minimize bow-drying, straightening, dyeing and curling your hair if possible.
Hair is made of proteins, make sure that you eat a balanced diet rich in lean protein, whole grains, fruits and vegetables. A healthy diet will ensure better-looking and better-feeling hair.

Step 5:
Try to relax.
Physical and mental stress will keep your hair from realizing its full potential. Stress can cause hair loss, so try not to let stress overcome you. This means finding healthy emotional outlets for your stress (for example yoga, biking, meditation) or other forms of exercise.

Hope you all like this post and it will become handy for you :).

SPRING/SUMMER 2013

Holla!

As we all know the festive time is over and winter is nearly coming to the end. Which finally means the end of short, cold, miserable days lazying about and dark clothes! Even though nearly the whole UK is covered in the snow, soon enough it will be time to drop your warm, cosy jumpers off. Put all the winter coats, boots, scarfs and gloves away and get ready for the summer! Long, sunny days eating ice cream and chilling by the beach with your friends - CAN'T WAIT. So I thought it would be a great idea to show you all what some of the fashion retailers have in store for us this spring/summer.

Through modern shapes and high end fabrics, Some of the key features of this upcoming season are leather products, including a biker style jacket  which are back this year once again. Bright, bold and eye-catching tees, vests, shirts and shorts as well as snap backs.

There's also a range of standout pieces this up coming spring, such as the acid wash jeans and the tie dye tees, ideal for everyone for the warmer days. We'll also see a lot of bright, bold, primary colours, patterns, contrasts and dip-dyes throughout the spring and summer.

There is a clear presence of dominating brightness also making appearance here through short sleeve shirts, dazzling with high energy kitsch prints and vivid, primary colours. Which you will see a lot of in stores this spring/summer.

Taking inspirations from the desert and city street style for a mash-up like no other, this look is sure to be absolutely massive in the summer. Amongst leopard print t-shirts are a cool array of leaf print shirts and vests. There’s also a collection of unique eye-catching blazers that really are a must have for the ultra die-hard fashion lover!

So for Spring 2013 designers are definitely sticking to the print collection that will help you get right back in the mood for warm weather. Of course the mainstay florals and camo will also be available, but the line expands more to ikats, water prints, polka-dots, and paisleys.

So what do you think of the Men's 2013 Spring/Summer collection?
In my opinion it will definitely brighten up the streets and bring a lot of life thought the bold, crazy colours and patterns. I'm pretty excited to see what everyone else will be wearing and how they will to make it their own. Exciting stuff, CAN'T WAIT!

Liebster Award!

Holla!

I've seen a lot of bloggers being nominated for Liebster Award to find out I have also been nominated by Hannah from Trust in Vogue  who I want to thank very much for nominating me. It really does mean a lot. I know, I only just started and only have just a few followers, but it really puts on a smile on my face knowing that people appreciate what I do, especially when I'm doing something I truly enjoy.
For those who are unaware, the Liebster Award helps to improve other bloggers' reputation and raise the awareness of the blog if they have under 200 followers, which is an amazing way and an opportunity for every blogger to shine and let their readers find out a little bit more about them selves.

The Rules

- Answer 11 random facts about yourself

- Answer 11 questions from the person that nominated you

- Nominate new blogs (of course, with under 200 followers)
- Make 11 new questions for them to answer

Random Facts About Me
1. I. LOVE. FASHION - you have probably already guessed that though.
2. I love meeting new people and making friends. You can never have too many friends, these are the people who make your life worth while.
3. I am an Apple freak - iPhone, iPad and Mac addict.
4. I'm very outgoing. Can't stay at home for too long, or I will end up doing stupid, pointless things.
5. I tweet and instagram a lot!
6. I care about my hair probably more than anyone else.
7. I'm very tanned - whenever I meet/speak to someone new they think I'm Spanish/Italian.
8. Nicki Minaj and Rihanna are the best.
9. I don't like sleeping - such a waste of time. I could be doing something more productive than that, right?
10. I basically live of Chinese food. Chicken Curry for the win.
11. I'm not afraid to take risks in life. If you don't take a risk, you'll never know what could have happened.

Hannah's Questions:
1. What's your biggest fear?
I'm not scared of anything really, because I like to challenge myself. The only fear for me is a fear of a failure.
2. What's your lifetime ambition?
I would LOVE to travel around the world. There is so many places that I want to visit.
3. Where do you see yourself in 5/10 years time?
Hopefully graduating from university, travel for a year, move out to London/Florida and start my career.
4. Chocolate or Sweets?
Sweet.
5. If you had to take an object with you to a deserted island, what would you take?
Possibly impossible for me just to pick one, but if I really have to I'll go with my iPhone!
6. If you had the opportunity to claim lots of money but lose your blog, would you do it?
No. So far the thing I learnt in life is that money doesn't bring happiness. Whereas doing what you love does. Therefore no way!
7. Who inspires you?
As weird as it may sound it has to be my parents that inspire me the most. They have taught me so many great things in life and I am incredibly grateful to them for that.
8. Do you prefer Summer or Winter?
It's all about Summer!
9. What's one item of clothing you can't live without?
Denim jacket.
10. Would you rather be famous, or the best friend of someone famous?
Best friend of someone famous, being famous is so much hassle. No privacy what so ever.
11. If you could, would you go the past to see your ancestors, or would you travel to the future?
Go back to the past. I can always wait for the future and see what it brings. If I knew what would happen life would be boring, so I'd rather know what I was up to before! Haha.

My Questions:
1. Describe yourself in 3 words.
2. What is your biggest 'Pet Peeve'?
3. From 1 - 10 (1 being the lowest, 10 being the highest) how important is fashion to you?
4. What are your plans for the future?
5. Favourite place to go on holidays?
6. Dogs or Cats?
7. What is your favourite thing to blog about and why?
8. Why did you decide to start writing a blog?
9. Who is your favourite celebrity?
10. What is your favourite perfume/aftershave?
11. Who is the person you can always rely on ?

Once again thank you to Hannah for nominating me, I really did enjoy answering all the questions!

The blogs that I'm nominating, as I believe they have so much potential are:

Zayn Malik Hairstyle Tutorial

Holla!

Today I thought I will do something different and something I haven't done yet, a hair tutorial!
I decided to do the hair tutorial based on Zayn Malik's hair style, simply because my hair cut is really similar to his. The only difference is that my hair are just a little bit longer at the sides than his.

To achieve this hair style you will need is a
- Tail comb
- Brush
- Hair Dryer
- Hair Spray
- Texturising Gum

Step 1.
Once you wash your hair using your usual products dry it a little bit with a towel, but not too much leaving it mid dry. At this stage divide your hair into two different parts ( as shown down below ).

Step 2.
When your hair is divided, start drying it with a hair dryer ( make sure to use a heat protection before so you don't damage your hair ). When you're drying your hair try to keep it in two different parts. The best way to do it is to try and holding the hair with a comb and dry the sides first. Once your sides are dry, start drying the top and your fringe by trying to form it up wards. Using a brush, comb or your hands to slightly curl the fringe to the back to achieve this look.

Step 3.
When your hair are dry and you're happy with the result apply hair spray to keep your hair in the same place so you don't lose what you have already achieved.
Once you applied the hair spray wait few minutes till the hair are dry again or use a hair dryer to speed up the process. When your hair are dry get about two fingers of texturising gum and start rubbing it in your hair forming it upwards and to the back giving it some shape and texture.

Step 4.
Once you're finished applying the texturing gum apply some more hair spray to make sure everything stays at the same place and you're done :).
TAAAADAAAH!

January'13 Wishlist

1. White Star Print Short Sleeve Shirt, £25 (Buy Here).
I was walking past River Island the other day and me being me I had to go in. And as tempting as it was, I didn't allow myself to buy this shirt just yet. However after my January payday this will be one of my first purchases. I actually love this shirt, I don't have a lot of white as well as short sleeve shirts and this one is just perfect. It's just a nice little simple shirt for a party that will give you a bit of a casual and formal look at the same time, if you don't like a proper formal look. I think it will go really nice with black jeans and a leather jacket. Which will give you that 'rocky' look.

2. Navy and White Pattern Beanie, £12 (Buy Here).
Another beanie to add to my collection. It's really cold outside to you gotta keep your head warm, right? This beanie will go well with basically everything, denim or even a leather jacket.

3. Black XS L'exces, £39.99 (Buy Here).
I absolutely love Paco Rabanne 1Million for men. Lately I came across this new fragrance by them,  Black XS L'exces and I decided it's time to try it out. Plus it's time to start using something new since I've been wearing 1 Million for nearly over a year, everyday so I'm starting to get a little bit sick of it.

4. Light Blue Skinny Jeans, £25 (Buy Here).
Surprise, surprise! Another pair of jeans, but you can never have too many jeans. Can you? I already had a pair of really similar jeans from Zara, but they are a bit different shade and a slim cut. Right now I'm on a look out for light blue skinny jeans and these fit all the boxes. I have a pair of this kid of jeans from River Island already just in black and I am really happy with them, so I hope these ones wont disappoint me too.

5. Aztec Print Onesie, £50 (Buy Here).
Believe it or not I still don't own a onesie. Everyone has been telling me how comfy and amazing they are, but I just didn't come across the one that I actually liked. And I'm not that kind of person to buy something for the sake of it. So I decided to firstly find the one I like. Not going to lie, it did take me a bit of time to find one that I actually liked, but at least I found it at the end. Can't wait to jump and relax in it with a cup of hot chocolate!

6. Nike Air Max, £91.99 (Buy Here).
You can't have a wishlist without a pair of shoes! So there they are, does absolutely beautiful Nike Air Max. There is so many different ones that I couldn't decide between, but I decided to settle on this pair. Simply, because they will go with everything, blue or black.

7. Black Strap Neck Leather Jacket, £150 (Buy Here).
This stunning black leather jacket is just perfect. You can just put it on, on top of a t-shirt or a hoodie and you're ready to go. Again, because it's black it will go with everything really. Plus it allows you to play about with it and gives you so many different options. Can't wait to have it.

8. Oyster, 36mm, Yellow Gold Rolex Watch, (Buy Here).
I already have one of the Rolex watches, which I got for my 18th birthday and I am in love with it. Therefore I decided to purchase another one. Gold one this time (the one I got for my birthday is a silver one). So this one will for sure be a little bit of a change. Nice little watch to put on when you're away for a meal, party. Everything looks better if you have a watch on :).
